Job Description:

Under the general direction of the Child Care Coordinator, the TELI (Tribal Early Learning Initiative) Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, implementing, and evaluating the TELI intake platform, early childhood services, and collaborative events. This position leads the coordination of TELI Collaborative meeting schedules, agenda development, program intake, tracking systems, partner engagement, and cross-agency alignment of services that support early childhood development for children ages 0–5 and their families.

The TELI Manager also oversees the Keres Language Classes for Baby & Me and Toddler & Me, ensuring the integration of language and cultural knowledge into early childhood programming. In addition, the TELI Manager organizes and facilitates culturally grounded events, including but not limited to the Fall Festival, Easter Celebrations, and Back-to-School events. The role includes tracking family participation, maintaining data systems, supporting quality improvement, and assisting with grant deliverables, applications, and reporting.

This position requires strong collaboration with internal departments, external partners, and families to implement a seamless, culturally grounded, family-centered system that promotes school readiness and early childhood development within the Pueblo of San Felipe.

Duites:

  • Establishes early childhood frameworks, with advisement from TELI partners, for coordinating a seamless intake and service delivery system.
  • Communicates regularly with all TELI partners to ensure collaborative coordination and consistent implementation of services.
  • Manages data digital platforms, including the TELI Shared Folder, website, and referral and intake documentation.
  • Plans and coordinates Keres Language classes for Baby & Me and Toddler & Me, ensuring alignment with cultural values and language integration in early childhood development efforts.
  • Meets with all TELI programs to support early childhood outreach efforts and collaboration.
  • Transitions TELI partners to a universal intake process and supports capacity-building as needed.
  • Monitors intake platform use to ensure the system is implemented with fidelity and eases families’ access to support services.
  • Plans and facilitates monthly TELI Collaborative meetings, including developing agendas, taking minutes, sending invitations and reminders, distributing meeting materials, and submitting purchase orders for supplies.
  • Performs administrative tasks to ensure seamless coordination of TELI activities, events, and meetings.
  • Coordinates and executes all TELI events, such as but not limited to the Fall Festival, Easter activities, and School Resource Fair.
  • Proposes, plans, and implements targeted support services for families with children ages 0–5 years, connecting them to culturally relevant programs and available community resources on and off the Pueblo.
  • Develops and supports collaborative enrichment programs and events that promote school readiness, family engagement, wellness, and Indigenous early learning values.
  • Establishes tracking systems to monitor family participation across partner programs and assists in aligning data with early childhood outcomes and reporting needs.
  • Prepares reports for TELI Partners regarding family participation, attendance, and progress toward TELI goals.
  • As appropriate, connects families to resources and support services as they exit TELI programs or transition through the 0–5 age span.
  • Communicates with early childhood partners to manage and align activity calendars, ensuring a unified TELI calendar of events.
  • Shares early childhood resources and training opportunities across programs, including cultural and wellness-based materials.
  • Oversees or assists the Child Care Coordinator with grant-related responsibilities, including completion of deliverables, submission of reports, and correspondence with the New Mexico Early Childhood Education and Care Department (ECECD).
  • Assists, as assigned, with grant application development and reporting to support TELI services, sustainability, and initiatives.
  • Maintains effective communication with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Performs other duties as assigned that support early learning coordination and cross-agency collaboration.
  • This position may require occasional evening or weekend work, especially to support special events, family engagement efforts, or collaborative planning meetings.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • High School diploma/Associates degree preferred.

Experience/Basic Knowledge:

  • 3-5 years’ relevant with Early Childhood, family advising, administrative, and event planning experience.
  • Leadership experience with program, personnel, and families’ development.
  • Grant writing and grant administration experience.

Required Licenses/Certifications:

  • Valid driver’s license preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must have manual dexterity to enter and retrieve data from a computer.
  • Ability to sit and stand for long periods.
  • Bends and stoops regularly.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Maintain confidentiality with discretion.
  • Excellent public speaking, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

  • Flexibility, punctuality, and availability is a must.
  • Ability to speak Keres preferred.
