Job Description:

Perform duties of average difficulty to include aiding in processing WIC food orders, accepting deliveries and keep WIC Direct Distribution/warehouse area organized, which includes everything from physically moving WIC products around the DD/warehouse space and to help properly maintain all shipping and receiving records.

Duites:

  • Aid in maintaining inventory, ensuring minimal discrepancies or losses.
  • Helps stock WIC food items accordingly.
  • Receives WIC participants’ orders and packs order for distribution.
  • Assists in keeping Direct Distribution/warehouse area clean and organized.
  • Reports to WIC Inventory/Stock Clerk, WIC Program Specialist or other WIC management to alert of any issues with shipment orders, WIC food and WIC participants.
  • Attends meetings and trainings, which involve WIC program issues.
  • Supports WIC Program with promotion activities on Nutrition Education, Breastfeeding and Recruitment for participation.

Qualifications:

Education:  HS Diploma or equivalent preferred.

Experience/Basic Knowledge: Must have knowledge in Inventory systems with 1 year related experience in warehouse setting.  Must have experience with computer programs and willingness to learn the WIC Programs inventory software. Must have experience in Customer Service.

Required Licenses/Certifications: Prefer a valid driver’s license.

Physical Requirements: Must have manual dexterity to enter and retrieve data from a computer. Ability to sit and stand for long periods. Bends and stoops regularly. Lift or move up to 75 pounds.

Preferences: San Felipe Preference and Veteran’s Preference.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Possess strong organization skills.
  • Maintain strength required to move heavy equipment and products weighing up to 75 lbs. 
  • Exhibit strong communication skills, essential for working with other employees and WIC participants.
  • Must be capable of managing time effectively and multi-tasking as necessary.
  • Demonstrate familiarity with all warehouse safety precautions and is able to observe at all times.
  • Works well with others.

Working Conditions:

Majority of time will be spent in the WIC Direct Distribution/warehouse area. Most tasks are physically demanding, require hours of lifting, standing and carrying products.
