Job Description:
This is a community-based position that serves residents of the Pueblo of San Felipe. The incumbent in coordination with and under the general direction of the immediate supervisor will meet the goals and objectives of the Pueblo of San Felipe tribal departments. The incumbent is responsible for performing maintenance duties, and other miscellaneous duties in order to ensure that tribal buildings and facilities are maintained in a healthy, safe and sanitary manner.
Duites:
- Assist in cleaning and maintenance for buildings and facilities in order to ensure they are maintained in a safe and healthy manner.
- Communicate well with Supervisor and Co-workers as well as other employees or visitors to buildings.
- Work as team player and ensure the Employee Handbook is followed.
- Keep strict confidentiality.
- Keep outdoor landscaping clean, weed free and watered.
- Perform all preventative maintenance of facility’s heating, cooling, air conditioning, refrigeration, vehicles, life safety equipment, and other related equipment.
- Perform necessary repairs, as able, to the facility’s heating, cooling, air conditioning, refrigeration, vehicles, life safety equipment, and other related equipment.
- Perform scheduled inspections or maintenance on all equipment, buildings, and systems.
- Complete work orders or other work as assigned and document appropriately.
- Perform snow removal and other ground duties as required.
- Check operation of company vehicles, procure fuel, and arrange for outside maintenance or repairs when necessary.
- Maintain, repair, and replace light bulbs and light fixtures as necessary.
- Perform minor plumbing repairs and replace and install plumbing fixtures, lavatories, and toilets as able.
- Analyze and correct electrical problems and repair, replace and overhaul electrical equipment and controls as able in accordance with applicable building codes and facility and regulatory safety procedures.
- Utilize and operate hand tools, power tools, and other equipment to complete assignments/maintenance. Maintain tools and equipment in a clean, safe, and usable manner.
- Notify Supervisor or designee of potentially dangerous or hazardous equipment, systems, or building problems. Correct, as able, or remove the dangerous or hazardous equipment, systems, or building problems from service and placards as appropriate when repairs cannot be completed to satisfactorily remove the danger or hazard.
- Perform minor painting, carpentry and drywalling as needed.
- Coordinate and schedule major repairs with outside vendors and contractors as necessary
- Complete paperwork for repairs to ensure timely payment to contractors
- Perform other related duties as required.

Qualifications:
- HS Diploma or GED with a minimum of two (2) years’ experience preferred.
- Valid driver’s license preferred.
- Must pass a drug screen, thorough background and Driver’s license check.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Knowledge of standard maintenance
- Knowledge of procedures, chemicals, products and equipment.
- Knowledge of the Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System.
- Ability to read and understand labels and instructions, particularly on the use and application of cleaning chemicals and products.
- Ability to read and understand work orders.
- Ability to work as a team.
- Must have effective verbal and listening communication skills.
Working Conditions:
- This position is a physically demanding position.
- Must spend the entire time at work standing, walking, lifting heavy objects
- Must be able to life 50 lbs.
- Bends and stoops regularly.
