Job Description:

Incumbent is a Licensed Certified Peer Support Worker (CPSW) that will work in conjunction with behavioral health clinical staff to provide culturally-based life skills to school-age youth and families.  This is a community-based position that will work within the community and the local schools. CPSW II will engage in outreach activities, treatment plans, direct CCSS service delivery, group supervision, interdisciplinary meetings, and case notes.

Duites:

  • Establishes an assigned caseload of youth clients and works alongside clinical staff to establish treatment plans and provide CCSS treatment services.
  • Provides billable Peer Support Services to youth attending the local schools under the Medicaid CCSS framework.
  • Documents services through electronic health records.  
  • Assists AWARE Community Project Managers in coordinating and implementing mental health supports and promotion activities for youth clients in designated school(s).
  • Works with program and clinical staff, and school administrators to coordinate referrals for youth requiring treatment services.  
  • Assists and guides clinical support staff in providing culturally competent services to San Felipe members.
  • Provides outreach services to current clients, schools, and community as needed to promote mental health and CCSS services.
  • Coordinates with clinical staff to determine client needs and barriers to treatment.
  • Coordinates with supervisor to provide Peer Support Services in a community setting.
  • Obtains trainer certification for QPR and MHFA to ensure programmatic sustainability.
  • Attends mandatory AWARE, school, and community meetings.
  • Participates in mandatory group supervision and other provided supports to ensure fidelity to EBPs, CCSS framework, and overall culturally competent program services.
  • Works with Community Project Manager, Project Director and clinical staff to retrieve aggregate and client level data for monthly/ quarterly AWARE program reports.
  • Works with program and clinical teams to fulfill grant related deliverables and activities.

Qualifications:

  • Education:  HS Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • CPSW Certification: Current active CPSW certification required.
  • Experience/Basic Knowledge: Job related experience is required (e.g. knowledge of statewide and local public education systems, behavioral health systems specifically serving children with mental health needs and their families.
  • Keres language fluency
  • Two years of experiences as a Certified Peer Support Worker or equivalent culturally-based services
  • Knowledge of customs and values of the San Felipe community
  • Must be willing to participate in on-going grant trainings and trainings necessary to maintain CPSW certification.
  • Required Licenses/Certifications: Valid New Mexico driver’s license. Current active New Mexico Peer Support Worker.
  • Physical Requirements: Must have manual dexterity to enter and retrieve data from a computer. Ability to sit and stand for long periods. Bends and stoops regularly.
  • Preferences: San Felipe Tribal Member and Keres Speaking Preference.

Working Conditions:

Works in community office and in local school(s). Offer CCSS services across different sites.
