Job Description:
This commissioner is appointed by the Tribal Council and one of three commissioners who oversee the supervision of the Gaming Executive Director and its operations. The tribal gaming commission's responsibilities, powers, and enforcement authority is specifically set forth in the tribal ordinance, including regulatory functions of a Tribal Commission. Responsibilities include but are not limited to, supporting the regulations in accordance with the Tribal Gaming Ordinance and to assist in establishing and implementing Tribal and National Indian Gaming Internal Control Standards remaining in tribal, state and federal regulatory compliance. Qualifications:
- Must pass a thorough background Check with no Felonies.
- Prefer some gaming experiencing and member of San Felipe or the Native.
- Must be able to serve a staggered three (3) year term.
- Must not be a member of Tribal Council, Tribal Administration or would be a member of the Tribal administration, Tribal Administrator or Gaming employee while serving as a Commissioner.
- Must not have any financial interest in or responsibility for, any gaming activity.
- Must possess integrity and be free from engaging in any conduct that would be detrimental to the reputation of the Gaming Commission and Enterprise.
- Supervise Executive Director related to operations and regulatory compliance.
- Keep minutes of all Gaming Commission meetings.
- Must be able to obtain a Gaming License.
