Job Description:
This is a community-based position that serves residents of the Pueblo of San Felipe. Position involves recruiting families for services, conducting home visits, assisting with parent sessions, coordinating referrals, administering assessments, and implementing Family Spirit curriculum.
Duites:
Knows and applies all essential duties, practices, and procedures required, such as: Participates in building partnerships with tribal programs, families, and tribal members; provides education on parenting using an evidence-based parenting curriculum; implements the Family Spirit curriculum in home and group settings; schedules weekly visits and maintains good attendance with families; assists and facilitates parent sessions; conducts developmental screenings and adult wellness screenings; participates in staff and department meetings, and trainings; collects client data and completes data entry on a daily basis for all services delivered; assists with quality assurance and CQI, and participates in evaluation activities; transports participants; maintains accurate and complete records of home visits, screenings, referrals, and other reports as required. Attends trainings to become certified in curriculum including but not limited to: Family Spirit, Certified Peer Support Work, Circle of Security, etc. Skilled in the administration of screenings including but not limited to: ASQ, PICCOLO, PHQ-9, CAGE-AID, HITS, etc.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Prepares and disseminates educational and marketing material
- Organizes and takes the lead in recruitment and outreach, and dissemination activities
- Collaborate with all KEVA staff in the development and implementation of educational workshops
Qualifications:
Education: Associates or Art (AA) degree in Early Childhood Education or related field including Social Work, Family Studies, Child Development is preferred.
Experience/Intermediate Knowledge: Understanding of adult and child learning theory such as behavioral objectives, methodologies; at least 2 – 4 years experience working in early childhood setting; understands and can relay information in Keres language; awareness of cultural parenting practices and has ability to communicate information;
Required Licenses/Certifications: Valid driver’s license.
Physical Requirements: Must have manual dexterity to enter and retrieve data from a computer. Ability to sit and stand for long periods. Bends and stoops regularly.
Supervision and Guidelines: Guidelines include the personnel policy and department policies and procedures.
Preferences: San Felipe Preference and Veteran’s Preference.

Works in office. Sits for long periods of time and types.
