Job Description:
Working under PIA Director, the Project Manager is responsible for overseeing daily operations at Tribal worksites to ensure completion of the project in a safe and efficient manner. The Project Manager provides monitoring/supervision and direction of the construction crew workers as well as provide coordination with sub-contractors. The Project Manager is responsible for day-to-day jobsite management of materials, tools and equipment.
Duites:
- Coordinates daily tasks according to priorities and plans, making changes when necessary due to weather, supply, delivery and personnel.
- Delegates individuals responsibilities and projects schedules to crew members and contractors.
- Provides adequate resources and staffing to meet project schedules, laws, regulations, best practices and safety needs.
- Provides written reports regularly on projects status to supervisors and managers.
- Monitors crew members and emphasizes the safe use of tools, machinery and equipment while also monitoring use of safety gear, helmets and procedures.
- Assists with recruiting, hiring, training, managing and mentoring employees and contractors.
- Assists with developing scope of works, budgets, schedules, and quality standards for all projects.
- Demonstrates the ability to understand the function and purpose of the final construction product.
- Conducts and/or attends pre-construction, progress and other project related staff meetings.
- Has the ability to resolve conflicts or miscommunications quickly and amicably.
- Knowledge of supervisory techniques regarding building & repairing to include painting, carpentry, furnace operation, reading or blueprints or sketches, of power or manual tools, safety regulations and of light and heavy-duty equipment.
- Maintains Crew Supervisors daily logs and makes recommendations for improved performances.
- Must have working knowledge of all phases of carpentry as related to residential housing.
- Will provide manual labor such as painting touch up, carpentry, demolition and other carpentry duties.
- Must show customer-service skills to communicate with inspectors and administration to develop positive working relationships.
- Liaison to state, federal, tribal and all other entities for reporting.
- Performs other duties as assigned by PIA Director.

Qualifications:
Education:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent Required
- Associates Degree or Equivalent Preferred
Experience/Basic Knowledge:
- 8 years’ experience required.
- Experience in building rehabilitation, re-construction, commercial construction, and construction.
- Experience working in Native American/Tribal Government setting.
- Must have knowledge of OSHA guidelines.
- Knowledge of equipment and construction procedures and an understanding of construction industry standards.
- Experience and knowledge of electrical and hydraulic systems.
Licenses/Certification:
- Must possess NM Class D Driver’s License or willing to obtain within a certain time frame.
- Must possess a CPR/First Aide Certification or willing to obtain within a certain time frame.
- A GB-98 is a plus, but not required.
- Any additional relevant certification will be considered an advantage.
Other Requirements:
- Must pass a pre-employment drug/alcohol test.
- Must pass a thorough background check.

- Must have good math skills.
Working Conditions:
- Must be willing and prepared to work both indoors and outdoors including in inclement weather.
- Required to walk, stoop, lift, carry and may be exposed to hazards such as heights, fumes, dust, heat, glass chips and power equipment.
- Work Environment is conductive to normal physical demands.
