Job Description:

Incumbent will be responsible for learning the work and operations of the San Felipe Pueblo Tribal Government. Candidate will work alongside Tribal Administrator(s), be exposed to daily operations of the Governor’s Office and will also be introduced to state, federal and tribal governments with an emphasis on government-to-government relationships. Ability to travel out-of-state is a must.

Duites:

  • Maintain a positive attitude and be willing to work and learn.
  • Maintain a level of professionalism and confidentiality regarding sensitive work undertaken at the administrative level of tribal government.
  • Communicate with tribal administration, tribal employees and community members regarding matters of concern with the organization.
  • Must have knowledge of tribal protocols, traditions, cultural values in order to serve as a role model for youth in the community.
  • Office work may include: Filing, answering telephones, filling out paperwork, writing letters on behalf of the administration and writing a final report and presentation of the internship experience to Administration.
  • Interact with other summer youth interns within the organization.
  • Attend meetings with Tribal Administrators and Administration with various government agencies during the internship.
  • Possible out-of-state travel.
  • Tribal Member preferred.

Qualifications:

  • Education: High School Senior (Fall 2022), High School Graduate (2022) or current undergraduate college students.

  • Required Licenses/Certifications: Valid NM ID and/or driver’s license.
  • Physical Requirements: Minimum.
  • Preferences: San Felipe Preference.

Working Conditions:

Works in office. Sits for long periods of time. Some lifting is required.
