Job Description:
This is a community-based position that serves residents of the Pueblo of San Felipe at the Equine Therapy Program. The incumbent will assist in the organization of, and provide, transportation services to clients of the San Felipe Equine Therapy Program within the San Felipe community and other locations as determined. Incumbent will primarily focus on client transportation but will also aid in clerical duties which include: maintaining inventory of goods and supplies, organizing and overseeing vehicle maintenance services. Will assist with other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
Duites:
- Assist Transportation Coordinator/Administrative Assistant in managing the daily tasks related to transportation coordination for clients.
- Manage transportation coordination when Transportation Coordinator/Administrative Assistant is out of the office or on leave.
- Provide transportation services for clients to and from the program site. This will be the majority of the work, consisting of multiple trips per day in Tribal vehicles.
- Insure safe and timely transportation for client appointments as coordinated with each clinician.
- Help manage transportation schedule; inform clinicians and clients of any changes.
- Post daily schedules where accessible to all team members.
- Send out reminders to clients as needed.
- Help oversee vehicle maintenance at all times to ensure availability.
- Help maintain supplies at levels required for program needs.
- Assist with direct community/school outreach communications for tribal youth/students and parents as requested by clinicians.
- Attend required program/community workshops and Staff Development Trainings as requested by Supervisor.
- Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

As “Essential Staff” may be required to be available for on-call duty coverage and must be prepared to work on days determined to be Tribal Holidays or Administrative Leave.
Qualifications:
Education: HS Diploma or equivalent preferred.
Experience/Basic Knowledge: Experience with office management duties and above level organization skills (basic computer skills); Experience with vehicle maintenance scheduling; Experience working with tribal school-aged children, youth and their families; Ability to take direction from supervisors, clinicians to achieve the best services for clients.
Required Licenses/Certifications: Valid and unencumbered New Mexico driver’s license. No moving violations for minimum of three years prior to date of hire. Incumbent must successfully pass background checks for school systems serving Tribal children.
Physical Requirements: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. The work requires driving several hours per day, and involves standing, bending, and walking within the community, schools, clinics, and homes, as well as the ability to drive a car in all types of road and weather conditions. Lifting and carrying up to 80 lbs. is necessary to the work.

Working Conditions:
Works in office as well as outdoors. Driving for long periods of time. Work in cold and hot weather as needed for client services.

Incumbent will be directly supervised by the Clinical Supervisor and Transportation Coordinator.
