Job Description:
Incumbent is responsible for offering administrative support to the Court Administrator in the daily operation of the Court inclusive of management of staff; case file management and processing; scheduling of court proceedings; issuing notices, orders and other related Court documents; providing quality customer service; assisting probation and pre-trial services; assisting any and all other government agencies and programs working with the Court and reception of all incoming members of the public to the Court.
Essential Duties:
The position requires the performance of the following functions in assistance to the Court Administrator: Processing of all incoming and outgoing court documents; preparation of certain notices and other Court documents as assigned by presiding judge or Court Administrator; management of case files ensuring timely processing of cases; maintaining audio and video recording files of all proceedings before the Court; Data entry for cases in computer tracking system; scheduling and maintaining proper timelines for both civil and criminal dockets; Scheduling of appointments for presiding judge; Aid in preparing statistical reports; Perform any and all necessary administrative duties that account for the daily activity of the Court inclusive of but not limited to Offering aid in preparing purchase orders, Aid in preparing budget reports, Answer incoming phone calls when needed; Greet the general public and all parties with matters before the Court; Attend conferences, seminars and trainings as they relate to professional development; Assist probation and pre-trial services in conducting probation intake for criminal defendants sentenced to probation; and any and all other administrative matters that need to be addressed for the daily operations and functioning of the Tribal Court as assigned by the presiding judge or Court Administrator.

Working Conditions:
Work in office requires sitting for long periods of time before a computer monitor. Position also requires interaction with convicted criminals in a Court setting.
Qualifications:
- Minimum Education: High School Diploma with a minimum of 2 years work experience in an office setting. General understanding of Court procedures and quality customer service skills. Associates degree in the field of study of Criminal Justice, Paralegal Studies or any social sciences with 3 years direct experience and ability to fluently speak and understand the Keres language preferred.
- Experience/Basic Knowledge: General experience working in an office setting; familiarity with Microsoft Office and the Windows operating system; Ability to work in a fast paced environment occasionally involving disgruntled or angry members of the public; Quality customer service skills; Ability to protect the confidential nature of litigants and their legal matters before the Court; Successful candidate must be familiar with basic civil and criminal procedures along with general court forms and pleadings.
- Required Licenses/Certifications: A valid driver’s license and able to be insured under the Pueblo of San Felipe’s current insurance carrier.
- Physical Requirements: Must have manual dexterity to enter and retrieve data from a computer. Ability to sit and stand for long periods. Bends and stoops regularly.
- Preferences: San Felipe Preference and Veteran’s Preference.
Supervision and Guidelines:
Position does not directly supervise any employees. Position requires adherence to the Pueblo of San Felipe personnel policy and Contemporary Tribal Court policies and procedures.
